Uniform Cross
Section or Unimat (3"UM, 4"UM, 6"UM, 8"UM)
The surface of the Unimat style is slightly dimpled.
The thickness of the Unimat is created by spacer cords that connect
the top layer and bottom layer of fabric together, thus, giving
the dimpled surface. The revetment's low coefficient of hydraulic
friction and permeability is equivalent to that of high quality
concrete paving. In selecting the Unimat thickness required, the
same criteria for determining the thickness of conventional concrete
paving is employed. Where relief of hydrostatic uplift is required,
weep hole assemblies can be installed through the fabric.
3" & 4"
Unimat The 3" UM & 4"UM are the lightest
styles of Unimat. They are used for light-duty concrete paving.
Criteria for selecting the 3"UM or 4"UM are the same as
3" & 4" conventional concrete paving.
6" Unimat The most frequently used size of Unimat,
the 6"UM, is very versatile when greater weight and impermeability
is required. Criteria for selecting the 6"UM are the same as
6" conventional concrete paving.
8" Unimat The largest in the Unimat style, the 8"UM,
is used where greater weight and protection is required. Sizes larger
than the 8”UM are available upon request.
Some areas of installation are: leachate
& retention ponds, trapezoidal ditches, canals, down drains
and perimeter ditches on landfills, reservoirs and lakes, boat ramps,
bridge abutments, low-level water control structures & dams.
